Common Risks: |

Preop preparations: |

No Smoking for I week prior to and 2 week after surgery (may cause skin/umbilical death and loss)

No anti-inflammatory medications for 2 week prior to and after surgery (may cause increased bleeding)

Patient's weight should be within 10%- 1 5% of desired weight
|
| Recovery: |
- No exercise or strenuous activity for 6 weeks
- Can usually return to work in 1-2 weeks
- Drain usually removed at 4-6 days post op
- Abdominal binder must be worn for minimum of 3 weeks
