About Procedure: |

Incisions are all inside the nose (except to narrow nostrils)

Changes the nasal appearance but may not give the face a totally different look

Known Risks: |

Bleeding, bruising, infection, asymmetry, swelling, loss of skin, pain, possible bad scarring (keloids), nasal contour irregularities, recurrent nasal
deviation / obstruction, nerve injury (loss of sensation), septal perforation, anesthetic complications

Preop preparations: |

No smoking 1 week prior to and 2 weeks following surgery (May cause wound healing problems)

No antiinflammatory medications for 2 weeks prior to and after surgery (May cause increased bleeding)

Recovery: |

No exercise or strenuous activity for 4 weeks
-
Can usually return to work in 5-7 days
-
Nasal splint necessary for 5-7 days post op
