Common Risks:

Bleeding, Infection, asymmetry, swelling, pain wound separation, possible bad scarring, nerve injury continued aging, anesthetic complications,
ectropion (pulling down of lower lid), ptosis (sagging of upper lid), injury to eye or adjacent structures, dryness, tearing

Preop preparations:

No Smoking for I week prior to and 2 week after surgery (may cause skin death and loss)

No antiinflammatory medications for 2 week prior to and after surgery (may cause increased bleeding)

Controlled blood pressure and any other illnesses

Recovery:

No exercise or strenuous activity for 3 weeks

Can usually return to work in 3-5 days

Suture removal in 3 -5 days
